At the office employees get an occasional raise.
Grades and pay increases are measures of success.
In college athletics, university's get a ranking in something called the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup.
Learfield Communications, in conjunction with the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics, which is based in Cleveland, has ranked Stanford University as having the most successful sports program during the 2009-2010 academic year.
The University of Hawaii is ranked 61st.
Boise State, 60th, is the highest ranked university in the Western Athletic Conference.
The University of Florida and the University of Virginia are ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Since 1993, UH's highest final ranking was 53rd, accomplished in 2007-08.
