Man dies in Iwilei crash

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A Haleiwa man is dead following a collision in Iwilei. It happened just before 9:45 PM Wednesday, near the intersection of Nimitz Highway and Alakawa Street . Police say a vehicle exiting Nimitz Business Center was broadsided by a car that failed to stop, being driven by a 38-year-old man.

Paramedics took the 38-year- old to the hospital in critical condition, where he died. Police say, he was not wearing a seat belt. The 66-year-old man driving the other vehicle was treated and released. It is unknown if speed or alcohol were factors in this crash.
