HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Jurors in the Joshua Williams murder trial were shown a key piece of evidence Thursday -- a city and county trash bin.
The bin was wheeled into Honolulu Circuit Court covered with paper and sealed with evidence tape. Prosecutors say Williams and his co-defendant, Michael Connolly, beat Jamil Khan with a hammer, sliced his throat, dismembered his body and disposed of it in the trash bin over a drug dispute.
The 24-year-old victim's remains were never recovered.
Defense attorneys say Khan brandished a firearm and that Williams acted in self defense.
The trial continues Friday.
