CHINATOWN (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police officers shut down part of Nimitz Highway early Wednesday morning to investigate a hit-and-run pedestrian crash.

According to officials, the incident happened at around 1:30 a.m. near Maunakea Street in Chinatown.

Emergency officials say a man in his 40s was transported to the Queen's Medical Center in serious condition with a head injury.

Police have not released a description of the vehicle involved in the crash.
